Lorna S. Corrigan is a devoted Washingtonian, having spent most of her child hood in the Bellevue area. She received her undergraduate degree in Political Science in 1977 from Whitman College, and her J.D. from University of Puget Sound School of Law (now Seattle University School of Law), in 1982.  While in law school she served on the Moot Court Board, and was further recognized for excellence in courtroom advocacy through her appointment to the National Order of Barristers.

Lorna practiced as a municipal attorney with the City of Bremerton for several years after obtaining her J.D.  During that time she gained substantial trial experience, both before juries and the bench.  She handled both criminal and civil cases, and represented the city council and a variety of commissions and staff departments. In 1989 she joined Newton Kight, and since that time has engaged in a general civil practice, with an emphasis on litigation.  Her practice involves trials and arbitrations of civil claims, in real estate, contract and construction disputes.  Lorna also represents the Everett Housing Authority, and enjoys advising clients on general personal and business matters, such as real estate transactions and landlord-tenant issues.

Lorna has served on a number of non-profit boards.  She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Providence Hospice and Home Care Foundation and of Board of Directors of The Mountaineers.  She is an avid hiker and skier, has enjoyed many years of participation in the annual “Hog Loppet” 18-mile cross-country ski trek held outside of Leavenworth each year, and in 2013 completed her first Seattle to Portland bike tour.
